So our next book we are diving into is called, The Bean Trees, by Barbara Kingsolver.  I haven't picked it up yet, but she writes some good stuff.  One of her other favorites of mine is The Poisonwood Bible.  So, we don't have a time set up yet, but it will be in October on a Thursday.  More to come...As alway:   Until Then, Happiest of Reading!

Last Flight

I wonder what did happen in those final hours to Amelia Earhart.  How her life was completed.  We know her last words for the world were "we must be on you, but cannot see you.   Gas is running low."  But we are unaware of the rest.  It is well known I love to read endings of books first.  This was equally as interesting to read the book and somewhat know the ending already.  The book nookers and I loved this little story.  It was witty, fun, intelligently written, adventurous and true.  I liked this choice because it was written by her and full of her words, flights, and adventures as she flew around the world. She was able to captivate me with her first words-...Pilots are always dreaming dreams.
We loved her descriptions of countries, food, people, and smells-  Her wit, dedication, and courage to fulfill her dreams.  She was a hero to America at a time when they could use one.

flies away

Amazing how time flies and runs off and away from me.  I'd like it cuddle me close and lie and tell me there is more, but lying only lasts so long before the truth sets in.  So, here it is.  Summer break for us book nookers is over.  Tonight is our night of flight and our story telling begins again.  We are reading about Amelia Earhart in her book called Last Flight.  It's good and she is funny and honest.  I'll give a recap after we've chatted and eaten chocolate.  Until Then, Happy Reading!
