up and coming!

We have a mini list of up and coming events so, I will get started on our list:

1.  Nov 7th at 8pm at my house will be our next book nook meeting
2.  We are reading Nothing Daunted by Dorothy Wickenden
3.  In Dec, we are meeting on Dec 12th at 8pm at my house
4.  At the Dec meeting we always share Christmas stories with the group.  They can be a poem, or short story, but it should be something to share.  I love this one.  It is one of my favorites!! And we will likely have cider and treats for that one.

thankful

It seems every year I write about a few things I am thankful for.  The Thanksgiving holiday is filled with home and love and joy.  The spirit of it is then carried through to Christmas and it just makes me happy.  It is my favorite holiday.  As a kid we had to go around and tell what we were thankful for and it couldn't be what someone had already said.  It didn't matter what it was, which was great for us 5 kids with the attention span of -well 5 kids trying to sit still.  So, I am going to list 5 things this year I am thankful for and a few quotes for your reading entertainment.  Enjoy.

1.  I am thankful to get up at 5 in the morning and begin my day with seminary and scripture reading and cheerios.

2.  I am thankful for books.  Masses and masses of books.

3.  I am thankful for my testimony.

4.  I am thankful I didn't eat all my kids candy last night.

5.  I am thankful for rainy days.

I'll begin with sewing up loose ends here...We had a good discussion with our Bean Tree Book our last nook go 'round.  I just haven't updated that yet.  The ending left me wanting a little more and hoping that that wasn't all there was~ And Marie came prepared with the sequel!  Well done.  It's a little sad, with turtle's situation, but I think everyone has those moments of how do you move on from hard times.  How do you pick yourself up and carry on, move forward, deal with all that you have.  For us the answer can be your Savior.  Lean on Him and let Him be your guide and carry those burdens for you.  I think something else that I reflect on now looking back at the book is,  "it takes a village to raise a family"  and in this book, it really does.  And sometimes that is super helpful.
